Copper futures settle higher on Wednesday
Sep-10-2026
Copper futures settled higher on Wednesday amid tariff uncertainty and tightening global supply, while investors turned their attention to upcoming US inflation data and next week's Fed meeting. Additionally, strong demand from electrification, renewable energy, power infrastructure and artificial intelligence drove long-term market growth. However, escalating hostilities in the Middle East capped further gains.

Copper futures for December delivery rose $0.065 to settle at $6.8885 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up by 0.40% at $14,767.50 a ton.
