Rupee strengthens against dollar on Wednesday
Jul-29-2026

Indian rupee has strengthened against the US dollar on Wednesday as Fitch Ratings’ estimates of revenue for rated Indian corporates bolstered investor sentiments. The rating agency projected aggregate revenue for rated corporates to rise by 9% in the current fiscal, stronger than the 5% estimated for FY26, which would keep credit metrics of Indian companies stable. Rupee also got support from renewed foreign capital inflows by foreign institutional investors (FIIs). FIIs were the net buyers of securities worth Rs 755.33 crore on Tuesday’s session. On the global front, the euro has weakened against the US dollar on Wednesday as renewed tensions in middle east spiked up the global crude oil prices.

Finally, the rupee ended at 95.67 (Provisional), strengthened by 15 paise from its previous close of 95.82 on Tuesday. The currency touched a high and low of 95.80 and 95.48 respectively.
