Indian rupee strengthens against dollar on Thursday
Jul-30-2026

Indian rupee has strengthened against the US dollar on Thursday, supported by foreign capital inflows in Indian markets. The foreign institutional investors were the net buyers of securities worth Rs 2,981.87 crore on Wednesday’s session. Besides, US Federal Reserve’s decision to keep the rate unchanged has also lent support to the rupee. Further, investors were optimistic after Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said that the first tranche of the bilateral trade agreement (BTA) between India and the US will come into operation as soon as the United States is able to ensure that India gets a comparative advantage over its competitors. On the global front, the British pound has strengthened against the US dollar on Thursday after the Bank of England kept the bank rate unchanged at 3.75%.

Finally, the rupee ended at 95.65 (Provisional), strengthened by 11 paise from its previous close of 95.76 on Wednesday. The currency touched a high and low of 95.75 and 95.56 respectively.
